Oscars Week

Week of February 24, 2019

What’s Happening: Anyone planning to attend or host an Oscars party? I think I might watch for a bit. I am interested in seeing who wins Best Picture. Leave a comment and share what your plans are.

On Thursday, Feb 28th from 6-8pm, I will be enjoying an evening of sampling coffee & food at Union Place Coffee Roasters with Laurie DiProspero and Sweet & Cute Sweets, Niblack Foods, Dolce Cupcakery and Carretta's Craft Foods. I'll be the one with the massage chair, waiting to help you unwind. :) Come out and see everyone!

Fun Holidays this Week:

February 24: Oscar Night – Are you having an Oscar party? Here are some fun food ideas. http://www.oprah.com/food/oscar-party-recipes--oscar-party-menu

February 26: National Pistachio Day - Celebrate today by eating Pistachios. They are great plain as a snack, in ice cream, and in a wide range of desserts.

February 27: Polar Bear Day – Fun fact. It is believed that all polar bears are left handed. Rochester's very own Seneca Park Zoo hosted a Polar Bear Awareness Weekend with our resident polar bear, Anoki!

Hydration Recipe

Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. Water promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps muscles and joints work better and keeps skin supple. Here is this week’s hydration recipe:

Kiwi Water

3-4 ripe kiwis, peeled and thinly sliced (or crushed for more flavor)

Combine water and kiwis in a pitcher. Stir gently, cover, and refrigerate until flavors combine, at least 1 hour.

Winter time blues

Spring is almost here. But at this time of year, many people are experiencing some winter blues. WebMD reviewed more than a dozen studies that revealed how massage can fight depression by lowering cortisol levels.

Cortisol is the body's response to stress, and massage therapy lowers it by as much as 50%. At the same time, massage provides many benefits and can also increase the levels of serotonin and dopamine, which are both neurotransmitters that help stabilize your mood.

If you or someone you love is experiencing the winter blues, schedule a massage today and help get through this last push before spring. Schedule an appointment here: http://bit.ly/2Es03ju
